As an introvert, getting out of my comfort zone is not something I’m very fond of. Especially throughout middle school and high school, I struggled to put myself out there and do things that I really wanted because I was shy or nervous people wouldn’t like me.

Towards the end of high school/beginning of college, I started realizing this mindset was holding me back and that I shouldn’t let it stop me from what I truly desired to accomplish. As a result, I joined school groups, studied abroad (twice!), interned for amazing non-profit organizations, and overall did my best to take advantage of the opportunities that I was offered in college and beyond. I also did not just wait for these things to come to me, but sought after them.

I believe that getting out of your comfort zone is necessary to growth. If you don’t try new things, how will you really know if you like them or not? I was firm in my fear of roller coasters until my husband (then boyfriend) made me go on The Hulk and I’m now an avid roller coaster fan!

Lately I’ve noticed that I’ve never really gone out of my comfort zone when it comes to fashion. So I decided it was time I changed that! As I mentioned in a previous blog post, I have never been a fan of the loose pants trend. I think in general that tighter pants look better on me, so that is what I’ve always geared towards. So when culottes entered the scene, I figured I would give this pair a try, and I am so happy I did! I received quite a few compliments the day that I wore these, and they are so comfortable!

These lovely floral prints you can find here for currently only $25!

You can also find similar prints here and here and basic black culottes here.

What are ways that you have recently gone out of your comfort zone?

Aw thank you! I’ve been wanting to change up my hair lately but the colors I want don’t exactly work in the professional environment lol

Your pictures are amazing! Totally gorgeous. Yes I used to struggle with that as well during my adolescence but I was a more outgoing child, so I’ve been tapping back into that original energy. It just takes practice to be more outgoing! Recondition yourself to make it a positive experience. If someone doesn’t like you, and I would have no idea why, that’s their loss! You deserve to occupy social space.
