Loving Lately: Summer 2020

Confession, I have always wanted to write this type of blog post, but for some reason just never got around to it! Due to Covid-19, moving, and other factors I have been delaying other blog posts (i.e. our NYC Travel Itinerary), so I figured I would write something light and fun instead. And who knows, maybe you’ll find something here you love as well!

Fashion

Striped Skirt

J. Crew was having a major Independence Day sale, so I picked up a few things! One was this skirt, which comes in Pink/Red and Black/White. Both versions are almost completely sold out now, but there is also a petite option that offers more sizes.

Chambray Pants

I also picked up these pants from J. Crew, and they quickly became my favorite summer pants. My mom loved them and also bought herself a pair. They’re super lightweight, and cute while still being casual.

Puff Sleeve Shirt

You may have noticed that I’m wearing the same shirt in the previous pictures of this blog post. Earlier in the summer, we were taking family pictures and it was requested we wear white tops. I did not have anything (fun fact: I do not like wearing white), so I spotted this top online at the Target website, ordered it, and picked up the same day. I ended up loving it so much that I also bought it the pink and black colors. It’s perfect for both work and the weekend, and the solid colors match anything and everything!

Winnie the Pooh Sakura Crossbody

I had been eyeing this bag for months, and my amazing sister-in-law got it for my birthday! I think the size is perfect, and I just love that it’s pink!

Gal Meets Glam Dress

Julia Berolzheimer is one of my all-time favorite bloggers, and a couple years back she created a beautiful clothing line. Everything she created was stunning, but out of my price range. She has recently decided to end the Gal Meets Glam Collection and start on a new path, and as such the collection is currently having huge sale. I picked two dresses that I will cherish forever. This dress is no longer available, but there are some options left! The collection officially ends August 7, 2020.

Beauty

Unseen Sunscreen

Last year and this year I have been prioritizing skincare, and one of the most important things is wearing sunscreen daily. Many people were raving about this specific sunscreen last year, so I finally splurged and bought myself one. One of my favorite things about this sunscreen is the texture since it glides across the face like a primer. You can find it in various stores including Sephora, or you can buy it directly from the Supergoop website.

Miscellaneous

Exploding Kittens

We’ve been playing this game with friends for years, and finally bought it for ourselves! We also got this expansion pack.

Their Eyes Were Watching God

This book written by Zora Neale Hurston in 1937 and is set in Florida during the early 20th century. It was recommended to me and I loved it.

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga

If you’re not a fan of dumb Will Ferrell movies you probably won’t like this film. However I throughly enjoyed it and have been listening to the soundtrack nonstop. Also, the scenery is stunning. You can watch it on Netflix.

Folklore

I’m not entirely sure that Taylor Swift ‘saved’ 2020. However, I have been a fan since the start and do love her new album. If you’ve listened to it, I would love to know your favorite song!

Let me know if you would like to see more of these kinds of posts! Did anything I’ve been loving catch your eye?
