Three Hours in Charleston – Road Trip Stop

My husband and I went on vacation to Raleigh, NC for a few days and I thought it would fun to make a stop along the way during our road trip. Naturally, I picked Charleston for a few different reasons:

  1. It was almost the perfect halfway point between Orlando, FL and Raleigh, NC
  2. It is a very walkable city with lots of great restaurants
  3. I absolutely love it!

I visited Charleston with my family a few years ago but my husband had not been, so this stop was mainly used as a way to convince him we need to go on longer trip here and I think it worked!

We arrived in Charleston around 11:00 am and spent the first hour wandering the city. We parked in the Concord Cumberland Parking Garage which is right in the middle of the action.

Address: 1 Cumberland St, Charleston, SC 29401

We then ate lunch at Slightly North of Broad, and both loved our dishes. I ordered the Southern Medley and my husband ordered the Grilled Chicken & Watermelon Salad. If you were to pay a visit I can’t guarantee these items will still be there, as their menu changes daily.

Despite only spending 3 hours in Charleston, we saw quite a bit! A few spots included the Charleston Market, Rainbow Row, and Dock Street Theater which is the oldest working theater in the United States!

Is Charleston currently on your travel wishlist? If not, then it should be!
