Mediterranean Cruise Port – Mykonos, Greece

Mykonos was the second stop on our Mediterranean cruise in June 2022 which also visited Dubrovnik, Santorini, and Split. This island is gorgeous and Mykonos Town (the closest city to the cruise port) is very compact and easy to explore.

Sightseeing

As I mentioned above, Mykonos Town is very small. We were able to walk around the entire town in just an hour or so as most of it is just shops and restaurants. Two places you may want to see are the windmills and Little Venice, which are right next to each other. We also took the ferry to the nearby island of Delos, an archaeological site that is said to be the birthplace of the Greek god Apollo.

Dining

Restaurants

  • Pepper – This souvlaki restaurant was decently priced and had great food! We especially enjoyed their starters.
  • Snow Pure Ice Cream – Very overpriced compared to the gelato we had in Italy, but it was still yummy. It looks like this place is only open in the summer.

Tips and Tricks

  • At the cruise port there are water taxis which take you straight to Mykonos Town. It is a short 5 minute boat ride and round trip tickets are just 4 euros.
  • The line to buy tickets for the ferry to Delos was long, but you can also purchase tickets online the day of, which saved us the wait.
